Students in Prof. Littau’s JOUR 325 “Philosophy & Culture of the Internet” class at Lehigh University are spending the semester deconstructing Black Mirror as part of the course curriculum. The show, which consists of three seasons and a special Christmas episode, parallels many of the themes the class covers and is a useful starting point for deeper discussions about the intersection of technology, society, and the self.

Each week the class will be generating a post that recaps episodes, discusses three standout themes (from the author’s point of view) and has discussion points. Feel free to contribute your own questions and responses in the comments section, even if you aren’t in the class.
